Today I'm especially grateful for the spirit. I mentioned in my last
post on my other blog that I've had a rough week this last week- turns out that wasn't
the end of it either, but I'm so grateful for that week. I've learned a
lot about myself.
Yesterday, I was beating myself up
over some minor things and one of my roommates from last year, Sarah,
came up and just sat by me in sacrament. I'm not sure how to explain
what happened next, but I just knew that it was gonna be okay. I was
going to be okay. Sarah didn't even have to say anything- just the fact
that she knew that I wasn't okay even though I didn't say anything or
do anything different and her sitting next to me was totally the Lord's
tender mercy.
Last week, I talked with Diana- my
counselor/therapist/shrink/whatever you want to call her. She told me
over two months ago that I needed to write a letter from me to Heavenly
Father and then the next day I needed to write a letter from Him to me.
I put it off for a long time, at first because I didn't know how, then
because I didn't want to, and then because I didn't have time.
Well
this last week I promised her that I would write it and bring it back,
no ifs ands or buts about it. So a few nights I wrote the first
letter. And even though it wasn't the next day- today I wrote the
letter from Heavenly Father to me.
HOLY COW GUYS!
I
can't even tell you what happened. I began writing and then it was
like I wasn't even writing anymore- my hand was writing but not what I
had in mind. My Heavenly Father gave me another tender mercy. I know
that the rest of the letter wasn't written by me- I firmly believe that
it was EXACTLY what He wanted me to know and to hear from him.
If
you're struggling, if you feel like you're just another number to your
Heavenly Father, or like He's too busy to hear from you- you need to do
this. I'm not saying that He's going to write the letter for you, but I
am saying that you will know by the end that HE CARES- HE CARES FOR
YOU! He knows you on so many different levels and he's not going to
leave you alone. Especially when you're struggling.
I've been so blessed this week and it's only MONDAY!
